Historically, Pride Magazine created the Sunset Jazz Festival to give back to
the community. For the past 16 years the festival has produced great outdoor jazz concerts and other entertainment for Charlotte and surrounding areas. Our audience is diverse and consists of jazz enthusiasts, families and individuals from various ethnic groups, who come together to have a relaxing affair filled with live music.

Part of our formula for success of the festival going forward will be our designation as a “Charlotte Shout” event in September.  “Charlotte Shout” is a month-long, annual celebration of art, culture, and community that incorporates over 200 performances and events in more than 40 venues throughout the Charlotte region. 

The 2008 Bank of America Sunset Jazz Festival will concentrate its efforts and energy on one weekend and involve the entire Charlotte community.  This will help with better branding of the jazz festival on a regional and national level.
